Erasmus+ mobility in Lithuania

Erasmus+ mobility in Lithuania(03rd-07th October)

Delegations of five different countries were visiting our gymnasium on the 3rd – 8th of October: Poland,  Spain, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece. It is already fourth project learning visit, which goal is to promote international co-operation to gain needed skills in modern international labor market. Last year we went to Bulgaria, Greece, Romania.
We announced opening of the visit with short opening program on the 3rd of October, on Monday. The visitors were welcomed by Laima Baltutienė, school principal Virginijus Andrejauskas and by gymnasium pupils who sang and danced. Then the visitors went to Šilalė Municipality. Also they went for sightseeing in the town, visited the church of St. Francis of Assisi. After lunch time the participants of the project read presentations about „Natural and cultural legacy in Europe“. In the evening welcome party people gathered to cultural centre of Kaltinėnai. We also had visitors of the event  - that was folkdance group from Šilalė, whose coordinator is Laima Andrejauskienė. They cheered us with their great performance. We gave our thanks to fellow-countrymen for their arrival. Every country presented their tradicional dance in the evening. Everyone danced, even those who were not so brave.
On Tuesday participants went to Šiauliai. They visited chocolate museum „Rūta“ there, participated in educational sessions. The visitors created candies themselves, and it left them a special impression. They went for sightseeing inŠiauliai, visited „Sun city“, The Hill of Crosses, which left interesting emotions for everyone.
Wednesday was dedicated to accomplish projects learning program. From morning to evening the students and teachers took place in CLIL lessons. Students worked in groups: drew, created slides, organized presentations, tried out different computer programs. They had a great opportunity to improve their English language skills.
Thursday passed in speed of lightning. We visited the beautiful capital of Lithuania – Vilnius. During the educational visit at „BARCLAY“ bank we learned about bank‘s history, activities, future visions, work perspectives. We could look around the offices, comunicate with different scope specialists, who work in the same environment. After this education we went to VGTU „LinkART“ factory. We cheked every corner there. We had an opportunity to know the answers to questions we care about, linked with the working of this factory, and for being active we were given gifts. Then we visited the most famous Vilnius landmarks by tour bus, heard its living history.
Friday, the last day, made us think that the visit was coming to the end. We went to dolphinarium of Klaipėda, in which we learned about dolphins‘ trainer profession. Dolphins performance caused unusual emotions. It was very interesting, sensual, unique and unforgetable to them. Full of positive emotions we had lunch and went back to Kaltinėnai. When we got back we filled in the europasses, evaluation forms about the quality of presentations and lessons. In the evening we gathered at cultural center of Kultinėnai. But this time – to farewell evening. „Etnoklubas“ of Šilalė pulled us into their program and presented lithuanian folk dances, songs. This group infected us all with warmth and energy. We give our thanks to group members and their leader Imina Kėbienė for coming. Sertificates were given to participants, coordinators and teachers. Parents made speech full of thank words to our gymnasium teachers for extraordinary devotion to students. Dances, feasts, deep conversations took place for long time. The sadness of farewell touched everyone...
We became a familly during this project. It really doesn‘t mean what natonality you are, what language you speak. We all were equal, because we didn‘t comunicate using native languages, but english. Visit and all project gives a unique opportunity to comunicate, travel, create, improve. It helps to come out of the set of limits and to look in the world through completely different eyes. I hope that the visits will strengthen our international friendship even more.
